The Great Salt Lake

We finally made it to Antelope Island! We live so close and have never taken our kids to this amazing place. The weather was stormy and wonderful. We got up close and personal to a herd of buffalo as they crossed the road. We floated in the salty salty lake, yes you really do float! Luke thought this was the coolest thing ever! He got a little to comfortable floating though and when the storm blew in the waves got big and he took in a pretty big gulp of salt water. We knew it was bad by the way he grabbed his head the way you do when you get a brain freeze and cried that the back of his head was burning, poor kid. After rinsing off we all shared a giant $10 buffalo burger and a root beer float and drove around the island to the old ranch. It was beautiful...except for all the giant spiders in the sage brush, yikes!!!

 They were HUGE!!

So fun. I haven't been there in ages. It's time to go back. Great pictures by the way.
Remember all the nasty spiders on the west side of the lake? They freak me out.

Thanks for taking the time to post these photos. We wish we could have been there with you. I am glade though that we did that little trip to Antelope Island when you were little.
